Please find enclosed an important letter regarding a product recall of 9x17 cartridges by the manufacturer RUAG-RWS. We kindly ask you to take note of this and take the necessary action in accordance with the procedure described. The reason for this is that some cartridges were overloaded, leading to instances of sudden release of hot gases, which in turn can cause serious injuries, particularly to the hands.
In addition to goods manufactured in Hungary in previous years (4-digit batch number), cartridges recently produced by RWS in Germany (10-digit batch number DAG…) from the years 2024 and 2025 are also affected. Further information can be found on the RWS Technology website:

KERBL also sold RWS brand cartridges until mid-2024 under the following item numbers:
- 21201 green, 50 pcs
- 21202 yellow, 50 pcs
- 21203 red, 50 pcs
- 21204 blue, 50 pcs
To avoid joint liability as a reseller, we are also obliged to pass this recall notice on to our customers. Please also inform any customers of your company about the contents of this letter. If you have a retail outlet, we would also ask you to print out the attached warning (‘poster’) in PDF format and display it prominently in your sales areas.
